A chapbook of poetry on the universal theme of love.
The poetry in La La Love contains observations of love from first meeting, possession, lust, falling in love, and being in an established relationship.

My thoughts:

My first thought is I love the cover!

This is a book of poems that are centered around love.   Some of the poems are very short where others are a little bit longer.  The whole idea of the poems is love and developing of a relationship.

The poems go through a lot of emotions from finding love to fighting with love.   The poems do suggest jealousy at one point and even some stupid small fights, but they all go back to the idea of loving someone unconditionally.  The idea of possession is very prevalent in the poems.

My favorite line by far was “we gain weight in happy relationships” I completely agree with the author on this point.  I feel like in a happy relationship you just feel more secure and safer that you can be yourself.

The author does a great job capturing true feelings of love and achieving in my mind real love that isn’t a fairytale.

I would suggest this as a cute read when you just have a few minutes to sit down and ponder about love and a relationship.

I received copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.  This does not affect my opinion of this book.

About the Author

Raised in a small town, Katie spent her childhood in the public library and became a real life Matilda. Growing up she ventured from the children's books to the classics, and then to the books that really weren't for a child's eyes.

Katie has been writing, alongside reading, for as long as she can remember. She had, and continues to have, many harebrained ideas that she needs to write down before she forgets them, and these become the stories you can read today in her books.
